Roundhay water group supports Yorkshire Wildlife Trust project
Our group were delighted to be invited to the launch event of the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust's new Rivers to Reef Project earlier this month. The project brings together YWT, Aire Rivers Trust, Derwent Catchment Partnership and Yorkshire Water to stop pollution in the River Aire and River Derwent. The data that our group collects each month will be used by YWT.
Anyone can get involved by taking part in the biannual Great UK Water Blitz and by by taking simple steps at home: bin fats and wet wipes, reduce microfibre pollution, choose water-safe pet treatments, check your plumbing, cut down on hard plastics, and care for the places you visit.
