REAP and St Edmund’s church would like to invite you to join us to view the National Emergency Briefing screening.

In November 2025, the National Emergency Briefing was held in Westminster and brought together leading experts to present the latest evidence on the climate and nature crisis to politicians and other influential people in Westminster. The next step is to take this vital message across the UK, bringing together people from across local communities to hear the evidence and discuss how to respond. As REAP we will be hosting a screening of the National Emergency Briefing for our community. The 50-minute film combines authoritative scientific content from the Westminster event with reactions from members of the public and some more familiar faces - designed to help audiences process the information on a more human level. It delivers the frank facts about the threats, but also the enormous benefits if Government leads genuine emergency action. There will be a discussion afterwards to allow people to process what they have heard and find ways to engage positively around solutions in our local community.

By enabling communities and decision-makers to engage with the same climate science evidence together, the screening programme aims to create informed dialogue at local and national level.

This is not a campaign event and no prior knowledge is needed. Whether climate and nature issues are central to your work, or something you’ve not had much time to explore, everyone is welcome.

We hope it will be a useful chance to hear directly from experts, reflect together, and discuss what it may mean for our community

Age rating 16+

Based on expert advice from the Climate Psychology Alliance, the recommended minimum age for this film is 16. Although all are welcome.
