Yorkshire Energy Services have just announced the ‘Wrap Up Leeds’ scheme, which is funded by EDF Energy and Leeds City Council. It offers residents the chance to access free cavity wall and loft insulation irrespective of age, household income or property type (subject to survey).
The project aims to install a minimum of 15,000 cavity wall and/or loft insulation measures in homes throughout 2012.
The free insulation is available on a first come, first serve basis. If you are a Leeds resident and would like more information about Wrap Up Leeds, contact freephone: 0800 052 0071, email email@example.com or visit www.wrapupleeds.co.uk.
With the UK’s major energy suppliers bumping up their prices by up to 18% this winter, the belated arrival of the cold winds represents a great opportunity to look at ways of cutting your fuel bills.
It all adds up to a 50% reduction in their gas and electricity bills.
The trading standards institute is investigating complaints from people who have been sold an energy saving plug by someone pretending to be affiliated with their energy company. They claim the plug, which they sell for £99 cuts energy use from the socket by 40%. The device is a phony and indeed is a fire and electrocution hazard.
