A PLASTIC FREE ROUNDHAY - HOW FAR CAN WE GO?

Roundhay Environmental Action Project - REAP

Reducing Plastic Use

Everyone is talking about the problems caused by plastic pollution. Particularly since David Attenborough’s recent “Blue Planet” series.

REAP wants to support our Roundhay and Oakwood community to reduce our plastic use, particularly single use plastics.

At the February Farmers’ Market, we asked you for your ideas and comments. This is what you said: Plastics Campaign Document

Will you join a group to develop plans and ideas

  • Do you know of any local networks or blogs committed to reducing the use of plastic?
  • How about a helpful list of easy wins to start off with?
  • Any interest in selected targeting of our local shops e.g. to reduce plastic bag use?
  • Would you like to know what happens to our plastic now?
  • Can we spread information on alternatives to plastic?

Confused about what and how to recycle your rubbish?
Leeds City Council’s website can help you?

Follow Recycle for Leeds @LeedsWasteDocs on FaceBook and Twitter.

REAP Plastics Survey

We want to work with volunteers who are willing to get actively involved in specific local campaigns e.g. with supermarkets re packaging or with bars and cafes which offer plastic straws.
